Before sharing files: a photo, HWP and PDF workflow
Check the real format and the recipient’s requirements before renaming extensions or starting a conversion. Keeping the original and producing a separate output makes it easier to retry when the result is unsuitable.
1. Preserve the original and list the requirements
Record format, byte limit, pixel dimensions and page limits separately. Pixel count and byte size describe different restrictions. Keep the original in a separate folder and distinguish exported filenames.
2. Convert to a usable format
For an iPhone HEIC photo, export its representative image as JPEG and check orientation and color. The HWP/HWPX text viewer can help read document content, but it does not reproduce tables, drawings or page layout and is not a precise print preview.
3. Choose the image boundary and dimensions
Crop to the intended ratio and boundaries first, then resize to the required pixel dimensions. If a byte limit remains, compare actual compression outputs. Enlarging an image cannot restore details absent from the original.
4. Organize PDF pages before compressing
Check page order and rotation after making a PDF from images or merging documents. Confirm deletions, duplicates and ordering before compression to avoid processing unwanted pages. Image-based PDF compression can remove searchable text, links and vector quality; read its conversion notice before choosing it.
5. Reopen the downloaded file
Check the exported file itself for page count, crop boundaries, readable text and orientation. Compression can produce a larger result, so compare the actual bytes with the recipient’s limit. Share the verified output file explicitly.
