MOEL public worked example
- Input and settings
- Start 2014-10-02; retirement 2017-09-16; eligible wages KRW 7,080,000; annual bonus 4,000,000; eligible leave pay 300,000
- Result

Check eligible pay components and excluded periods for the actual employment relationship.
Three months is not always 90 days
The averaging period starts three calendar months before retirement and uses actual days. Month lengths and leap years change its length; one quarter of eligible annual bonus and leave pay is added.
A higher entered ordinary daily wage replaces the computed average. Check eligible components rather than understating pay, and adjust both days and wages when excluding a period.
Service duration and eligibility
The model requires at least one continuous year and at least 15 scheduled hours/week on a four-week average. It applies daily wage × 30 × service days ÷ 365, producing a pretax amount.
Days excluded from continuous service and from average-pay calculation are different fields. The tool does not determine legal treatment of personal leave, parental leave, intermediate settlement or transferred employment.
Common questions
Which date belongs in the retirement field?
Use the day after the last working day. If work ends on December 31, enter January 1 so that the final working day remains in the service period.
