    How to use this tool

    Mosaic part of a picture

    Input and settings
    640×480 source, 200×120 selection, 20px blocks
    Result
The selected area becomes large color blocks; the outside remains unchanged.

    Block size versus output resolution

Pixelation reduces a region and enlarges it with nearest-neighbor sampling. The final file retains the original dimensions; the block setting controls the mosaic scale. Adjust a region using its handles or numeric fields and use original comparison to inspect the boundary.

    Limits when obscuring sensitive information

Weak mosaics can leave letters or faces recognizable. Do not treat this effect as guaranteed anonymization or secure erasure of sensitive data. Select a wider region, use a sufficiently large block size, and reopen the exported picture to inspect what can still be inferred.

    Common questions

    Is this the pixel-art editor?

This is a mosaic effect on a photograph, not a cell-by-cell drawing editor. Use the separate pixel-art workspace for pencils, layers and animation frames.
