    How to use this tool

    1. Add photos and enable comparison to inspect the original text and texture.
    2. Choose a format and quality. Optionally set a maximum edge and a target in KB.
    3. Generate the current photo or the complete batch, inspect actual sizes, then download.

    Prepare an attachment

    Input and settings
    2400×1800 JPG, maximum edge 1200px, quality 80%
    Result
A 1200×900 image; its byte size depends on the picture.

Adjust quality and pixel count separately

JPG and WebP quality is a request to the browser encoder, not a measured visual score. A setting of 80% can produce different sizes across formats and browsers. For screenshots containing small text, compare PNG as well and reopen the saved file at its normal scale.

Why a target size is not guaranteed

With a target KB value the tool searches several quality levels. If even the lowest level is too large, the actual generated size is reported. Reduce the maximum edge when a smaller result is essential. PNG has no quality knob here; lossless re-encoding can increase its size.

    Common questions

    Which format preserves transparency?

Choose PNG or WebP. JPG fills transparent areas with the selected background color, so inspect edges and translucent areas in the comparison before saving.
