    How to use this tool

    1. Choose an image, then select a target color or pick it from the preview.
    2. Adjust tolerance and edge connectivity, then refine with erase and restore brushes.
    3. Inspect transparency against the checkerboard and save as PNG or WebP.

A product on a white backdrop

    Input and settings
White target, tolerance 20, connected edges only
    Result
Similar white pixels connected to the border become transparent; enclosed white details can remain.

Color selection rather than AI segmentation

This tool compares RGB distance from a chosen color. Connected-edge mode removes matching areas reachable from the outer border and can preserve enclosed details of the same color. It does not run an AI model to recognize hair, complex scenery or objects whose color matches the backdrop.

    Refine a partially transparent edge

A high tolerance can remove part of the subject as well as its background. Increase edge softness gradually and use the erase or restore brush to correct local areas. PNG or WebP is needed to retain alpha. This pixel operation is limited to eight million source pixels.

    Common questions

Is the checkerboard included in the file?

No. The checkerboard is only a transparency display. JPG replaces alpha with the selected background color; choose PNG when you need a transparent file.
