Each symbology accepts different values
EAN validates digit lengths and check digits, while Code39 uses a restricted alphabet. Invalid values are rejected instead of producing a misleading code. Creating an image does not issue or register a product identifier.
Quiet zones, scale and scanning
Keep the blank margins around the bars and avoid stretching only the width. SVG scales as vectors, but printers, paper and scanners vary, so test a print at its final size.
Common questions
What should I check when EAN input is rejected?
Check the digit length and check digit for the selected EAN type. The tool neither issues product numbers nor queries product databases; use an identifier from its appropriate issuer.
