How to use this tool
- Open one PDF and choose a page. The self-hosted editing font loads when needed.
- Add text, a check mark, today’s date or a drawn signature. Move it by dragging or using arrow keys; drag a corner to resize.
- Apply changes and use undo to review placement, then create a new PDF. Reopen the download, compare it with the original and keep both files.
Add a name and date over blank spaces in an application
- Input and settings
- Unlocked application PDF; name Jane Smith; date; check mark
- Result
- A separate PDF with new text and a check mark placed over the original pages
This draws additional text and graphics over page content; it does not edit existing form fields.
Add new items over existing content
Text is saved with self-hosted fonts supporting Korean, Latin, Chinese, Japanese, and basic Greek/Cyrillic characters. Unsupported characters or emoji produce an error. Change the text size and width, or use multiple lines. Select an item and press Apply changes after editing its text or size.
Check marks, dates and hand-drawn signatures are separate items. Drag with a mouse or touch, or select an item and use arrow keys to move 1 pt, or 10 pt with Shift. The corner handle changes width and height. Undo retains the latest 25 states in this tab’s memory.
A drawing is different from a certificate signature
A hand-drawn signature is a vector graphic placed on the PDF. It does not authenticate a signer or detect document modification with a digital certificate. For keyboard-only use, add a name as text; this also is not a certificate-based digital signature.
The saved copy is a new document. Original annotations, form widgets, certificate signatures and bookmarks are not preserved as their original features. Visible form information stored only in annotation layers can also disappear. Keep originals separately, especially for signed documents, and review the complete saved copy before an important submission.
This does not replace text, redact content or perform OCR
Existing PDF text is not edited or removed. Placing new text over a page leaves the original content underneath. This is not a redaction tool for removing sensitive information, and it does not accept passwords, verify existing signatures, edit original form fields or recognize text in scanned pages.
Input is limited to one PDF of 25 MiB and 200 pages. There may be up to 150 added items, with 500 characters and 10 entered lines per text item; output is limited to 75 MiB. A signature may contain up to 2,400 points and 80 strokes, with 20,000 points across the document. Custom UserUnit scales are not supported. Complex files can fail even within the limits.
Process in this tab and save a separate file
The input PDF, text, signature, previews and undo history are not uploaded or written to persistent browser storage. Reloading or closing the tab clears them; back navigation can restore tab state. Downloaded PDFs remain on your device, and the original file is never overwritten.
A self-hosted font of about 2 MB loads when needed. Chinese/Japanese/Greek/Cyrillic text may load an additional bundle of about 6.5 MB on first use. Item boundaries shown on screen are not drawn into the saved document. The result preview shows its first page, so reopen and review every page of an important download.
Common questions
Does a drawn signature guarantee legal validity?
This tool adds a signature graphic. It does not authenticate identity or guarantee legal validity. Check the recipient’s requirements and the signature method they accept.
Does placing text over a blank fill the original form field?
No. It draws new text over the page and does not edit the original AcroForm fields. Original interactive forms and annotations are not retained in the saved copy.
Can I hide sensitive text with a white rectangle?
This tool does not remove or redact content. Use a tool with actual redaction functionality and verify its output when sensitive original content must be deleted.
