Images Tools

Background removal, resizing, format conversion and compression in one place. For pixel art, see Pixel Tools.

How to choose a tool

Use resize to change dimensions, compression to reduce file size, and split to create pieces. Use background removal for transparency and watermark to overlay attribution or text. For conversion, PNG usually suits transparency and sharp graphics, while JPG or WebP suits photos and smaller files, but first check the target app's supported formats and quality requirements.

Converting a transparent logo to JPG cannot preserve transparency, so choose a background color before export. For web photos, resize to the required display dimensions before compressing to avoid processing unused pixels. Compare formats from the same source and dimensions, checking text edges, color shifts, transparency, and file size side by side.

How to verify the result

Keep the original and check width, height, orientation, alpha channel, and output format; work on a small copy first. Zoom in on exported edges and compression artifacts, then test color and cropping in the real browser, document, or social platform. Changing a damaged JPG to PNG does not restore detail, and repeated lossy saves can add damage.

Image processing uses browser memory, so many or high-resolution files can slow down or close the tab. Animation frames, EXIF, color profiles, and other metadata may not survive depending on tool and format. For sensitive originals, read the page's server-transfer note, and separately check that the final file opens and has the required pixels, size, transparency, and metadata.
