How to use this tool
- Select a video and play it to find the segment you need.
- Set start time, duration, width and FPS, then inspect the planned frame count.
- Generate the GIF, preview its animation and actual size, then download.

- Result
- A24-frame GIF with the source aspect ratio and no audio
Height follows the source aspect ratio. Duration is slightly rounded to GIF frame-delay units.
Choose the segment and frame rate
Start time is measured from zero at the beginning of the video. Frames are sampled at the selected FPS interval, so3 seconds at8 FPS produces24 frames. GIF delays use hundredths of a second, which can cause a small difference between requested and played duration.
Only files such as MP4, WebM or MOV that this browser can decode are processed. Identical extensions can contain different codecs. Limits are100 MB,10 seconds,120 frames and12 million frame pixels. Reduce duration, width or FPS when a limit is exceeded.
Understand GIF color and size limits
GIF has no audio and stores many frames. This encoder uses a216-color palette, so photographs and gradients can show color bands. For smooth high-resolution sharing, the original video can be both smaller and clearer than a GIF.
The source video plays from a file URL held in tab memory, without external video URLs or downloading services. Frame preparation and GIF encoding are cancellable. Changing settings invalidates the previous result so it cannot be mistaken for a newly configured file.
Common questions
Can I convert a YouTube URL?
No. Only video files selected from your device are processed. This tool does not download from external platforms or fetch a supplied video URL.
How can I make motion smoother?
Higher FPS adds frames and increases memory use and output size. Reduce duration or width to stay within the limits and inspect the resulting animation.
