Unit converter

Convert measurements across nine unit groups.

Processed only in this browser

Change units to update the main conversion and a table of related measurements.

Inputs and settings
Examples

Inputs and results are processed in this tab. Reloading or closing clears them; files you choose to save remain on your device.

How to use this tool

  1. Choose a measurement group, source unit and target unit.
  2. Enter a value to update both the main result and the full table for that group.
  3. Swap uses the converted value as the new source for a reverse conversion.

Compare square meters and pyeong

Input and settings
Area; 84 m² to pyeong
Result
25.41 pyeong (display rounded)

One pyeong is taken as 400/121 m². This does not identify which contractual area definition applies.

Choose the precise unit definition

A decimal GB is one billion bytes, while a GiB is 1,073,741,824 bytes. US liquid and Imperial gallons also have different definitions. The unit labels expose those distinctions so a changed numeric value has an understandable cause.

The mass group converts mass units and does not convert them to force in newtons. A day in the time group is exactly 24 hours and a week is seven such days, rather than the elapsed duration of a daylight-saving calendar date.

Temperature offsets and displayed precision

Temperature conversion accounts for offsets as well as scale factors. Values below absolute zero in Celsius, Fahrenheit or kelvin are rejected. Negative values in other groups are processed as mathematical conversions rather than physical measurements.

Calculations use browser numeric arithmetic and display up to 12 significant digits. Repeatedly copying rounded results, especially very large or small ones, can introduce differences; the table does not replace original records for precision measurement.

Common questions

Do units update when I change the group?

Yes. The choices are rebuilt using units from the new group, so unrelated physical dimensions are not connected.

Why can a swapped value differ slightly?

Finite numeric precision and decimal display rounding can introduce small differences. This is not a symbolic, unlimited-precision unit system.
