Exclude a midweek day off
- Input and settings
- 2026-10-26 to 2026-10-30; include start; holiday 2026-10-28
- Result
- 4 business days
A supplied holiday on a weekend is not subtracted a second time.
Define your working calendar explicitly
The weekend is defined as Saturday and Sunday. Public or company holidays vary by jurisdiction and workplace, so you must supply those dates. Duplicate holiday dates are merged and holidays outside the selected range do not reduce the count.
A working end date is included. The checkbox controls the start date, and reversing the range produces a signed negative count. The same inclusion choice applies when both endpoints are the same calendar day.
Offsetting starts after the initial date
A business-day offset moves from the day after the start and counts working dates only. Adding one business day to Friday reaches Monday, or Tuesday if Monday was supplied as a holiday. An offset of zero leaves the start unchanged.
The tool accepts up to 500 holiday dates and offsets from -10,000 to 10,000 business days. It applies calendar rules only; it does not determine contractual cutoff times, half-days, administrative deadlines or rotating shift schedules.
Common questions
Are public holidays included automatically?
No. Check the calendar you use and enter the holidays yourself. With an empty list, only Saturday and Sunday are excluded.
Are duplicate holiday dates subtracted twice?
No. Holiday dates are treated as a set, so a repeated date is excluded only once.
