Frequently asked questions
How do I calculate salt-solution concentration?
The concentration (%) is the amount of salt (solute) divided by the total solution (salt + water), times 100. That is, concentration = salt ÷ (salt + water) × 100.
What unit should I use for the amount of water?
Just use the same unit (e.g. grams) for both salt and water. Since 1 mL of water is about 1 g, using mL makes little difference.
Are the values I enter sent to a server?
No. All calculations happen only inside your browser, and the values you enter are never sent to or stored on any server.
